Each area comes with a typical scenario and the list of documents you'll need from the start. Pricing is on the prices page.
Property division, custody, contact arrangements, child support
A couple is divorcing, and one spouse spent years paying the apartment loan or utility costs from personal funds during the marriage — and wants compensation when the property is divided.
Documents: bank statements covering the marriage period, marriage/divorce certificate, loan agreement, and, if needed, title documents for the apartment.
Parents cannot agree on where the child will live and how contact with the other parent will work. Before going to court, it's worth first trying to reach an agreement through a family mediator (perelepitus) or Lastekaitse — the court accepts the case once that attempt has failed or was not objectively possible.
Documents: the child's birth certificate, any previous contact arrangements, references from school/kindergarten, and, in disputed cases, police or child protection records.
Collection, limitation periods, disputes with bailiffs
Someone has had old enforcement proceedings (fines, debts) running for years where the limitation period for compulsory collection has already expired, but the proceeding hasn't been closed.
Documents: extract from the enforcement proceedings register (eesti.ee), and any correspondence with the bailiff, if available.
A bailiff has charged a disputed fee or carried out a procedure in breach of deadlines or process.
Documents: enforcement proceeding records, correspondence with the bailiff's office, supporting documents (medical, payment-related, etc., depending on the case).
Contracts, terminations, disputes between employee and employer
An employee is being made redundant or dismissed at the end of the probation period, and it needs to be checked whether everything is documented correctly and the payments calculated correctly.
Documents: employment contract, termination notice/decision, compensation calculation, and, for redundancy, justification for eliminating the position.
Transactions, cadastral disputes, hidden defects
Contesting wills, protecting heirs' rights
Heirs doubt the validity of a will (for example, due to the testator's mental state at the time of signing) or are in dispute over dividing the estate.
Documents: the will, death certificate, medical records (if capacity is being contested), title documents for the property.
Residence permits, citizenship, appeals against refusals
Preparing an application for a temporary residence permit or citizenship, or appealing a refusal.
Documents: identity document, proof of income, evidence of grounds (family relationship, status, etc.), and, when appealing, the text of the refusal decision.
Registration, contracts and disputes between companies
Partners are starting a joint business and need correctly drafted founding documents and agreements between themselves right from the start.
Documents: founders' details, the planned ownership structure, and, if needed, a partnership agreement.
Applications and appeals against refusals
A person was not granted the required degree of disability or incapacity for work on first application, or was refused on review — even though their health condition would justify it.
Documents: medical records, the previous decision/refusal (if any), and, when appealing, medical opinions.
Appealing decisions by state and municipal authorities
